THE AREA
If you are not familiar with Charleston or this area, you can see we are slightly north of the College of Charleston on historic St. Philip Street. This charming apartment is the perfect base to enjoy an enchanting Charleston experience. Charleston is like Rome, Italy in that most of the notable monuments and historic details are found in a fairly contained area. You can literally walk from the apartment to the southernmost extremes of the Historic District in under thirty minutes. Passing antebellum homes and cobblestone streets, this journey will take you through the Historic King Street District and the neighborhoods of Cannonborough, Elliottborough, Radcliffborough, Harleston Village and finally South of Broad until you reach the Battery itself. Go east one block and you are on King Street, the home of designer shops, eclectic boutiques, antique stores and a host of other fascinating shops as well as nationally acclaimed restaurants. Upper King is the new center of Charleston's renowned restaurant and night life. A recent survey of the "essential 18 Charleston Restaurants" has several of these restaurants (Hominy Grill, The Grocery, The Macintosh, The Ordinary) within four blocks of the apartment. We also love to walk to Five Loaves Cafe, Stella's Greek Restaurant, Goulette Rotisserie, Sugar Bakery and the Charleston Farmers Market at Marion Square. The South Carolina Aquarium and the Children's Museum of the Low Country are close and a delight for both children and parents. The Charleston Museum, one of the nation's first museums, is also within walking distance. We are excited to offer this attractive space on VRBO.
If you vacationing in Charleston and need to sleep from 2 to 72 people...in award winning historic properties...one block from King St. and .4 miles to Calhoun St...beautifully renovated with stunning decor and parking, St Philip Square is your answer!
You need to look carefully to realize our properties are noticeably closer to South of Broad, and our buildings are substantial historic buildings, with charm and character not possible in new construction, in a community setting where groups can gather, in an area where it's possible to rent without the owner present, in properties that sparkle with stunning renovation and charming decor. We have a unique offering for wedding groups, family reunions, business retreats, friends traveling together, honeymooners, anniversary celebrants or families with kids.
INSURANCE
We advise during the month of September particularly, and some into October, that you purchase the trip protection insurance. It is the peak of hurricane season in our area. We do not offer refunds or date changes for any reason outside the 60 day cancellation period.

Stunning property with positively perfect front porch! This home was so well laid out, bedrooms separated by the living area and 2 full size bathrooms. As a group of 4 women in our 50’s we appreciated the linens and abundance of fresh towels. A fabulous bonus was ALL the available spaces in front of the bathroom mirrors and 2 extra vanities for “putting on our faces” and fixing hair! Everyone had their own area! The provided coffee and creamer was appreciated. One in our group did purchase “personalized” creamers and bottled waters around the corner at the store. Several local coffee shops are within an easy 2 min walk as well. The location of this property was within walking distance to many restaurants, rooftop bars, carriage rides and other tourist meeting areas. We did uber to dinner at the Vendue one evening, but only because we all chose to wear heels. Beds were quite comfortable and the water pressure was amazing! The outside washer and dryer were nice to have for “fluffing” items from our suitcases. Will highly recommend to family and friends wanting to visit Charleston.

Checking in here was a breeze. The space is tastefully decorated and has all the essentials. The larger bedroom and its adjoining bathroom are particularly nice. The location is fantastic: you’re on a quiet residential street but you’re also around the corner from great restaurants and bars on King St.

Great experience! We went for a bachelorette trip. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us, the location was absolutely perfect (right by all the bars and restaurants on upper king), it felt like a fairly safe area, and the deck was so nice to have access to! We had so much fun and they were so responsive when we had any questions!

We highly recommend this place! The house has so much classic Charleston charm and has a great porch to have a morning coffee or a night cap on. Not to mention, this house is in a great location and is walking distance to a variety of things. Jamie was great and made us feel right at home as well. If we needed anything, she was easy to get ahold of and help us out. We will definitely be back again!

178 St Philips Street offers the comforts of home in a convent location. One block from King Street, the historic property is nestled in the quiet Cannonborough-Elliottborough neighborhood. With two bedrooms and bathrooms, the unit offers plenty of space of guests. The kitchen is wells stocked with the essentials when choosing to dine in after a day exploring the peninsula. Jamie and her team are accommodating and keep the property clean, comforting, and welcoming. Private parking and balcony a plus. Our second stay with more bookings to come. Would recommend to those looking to retreat to a cozy and quaint space in heart of the Holy City.
